We conducted our regular training weekend in the Malltraeth, Aberffraw and Parys Mountain areas of Anglesey this weekend where we welcomed 6 handlers and their dogs. The main focus of the weekend was continuous training for both trainee and qualified handlers. We also undertook the Level 3 Cadaver Detection final assessment for Gianfranco Galliano and his dog Montana.
We are delighted to confirm that Gianfranco and Montana were successful with the assessment and they are now a qualified cadaver detection team for the next 12 months - Congratulations to you both.
Over the weekend of the 21st to the 23rd of March we conducted a water search weekend in the North Wales area. This was one of our busiest weekends to date with 24 handlers in attendance and 19 dogs also taking part. We welcomed handlers from as far as Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, and other parts of the UK. We also welcomed two students doing a research project for John Moores University. We were also delighted to continue to collaborate in our training partnership with RRR Consulting.
The training took place in Holyhead Marina, Felinheli Marina and in Rhosneigr. During the weekend’s training Jane Deboise and her search dog Nessie successfully completed her annual reassessment for L3 Victim Water Submerged Cadaver) Detection, congratulations Jane.
We were also privileged to go on a visit to the Coast Guard headquarters in Holyhead. I would like to extend our thanks for your warm welcome.
As a result of this very successful weekend we will be continuing with training and partnership work in Denmark from June onwards.
We would like to extend our thanks to Holyhead Marina, Felinheli Marina and their staff for doing a lot of work to help us.
